macos – Unix command to avoid wasting QuickTime Participant recordings into customized folder

Utilizing MacOS Ventura 13.5

Is there a Terminal command for macOS to specify a customized saving listing for QuickTime participant movies?

For screenshots I exploit:

defaults write com.apple.screencapture location "<path></path>"

What can be the equal for fast time movies/recordings?

ps aux | grep com.apple.fast yields these paths for QuickTime:

  • /System/Purposes/QuickTimePlayer.app/Contents/XPCServices/com.apple.quicktimeplayer.SharedPrefsVendor.xpc/Contents/MacOS/com.apple.quicktimeplayer.SharedPrefsVendor

  • /System/Library/Frameworks/QuickLookThumbnailing.framework/Help/com.apple.quicklook.ThumbnailsAgent

Tried to switch it to my wants:

defaults write com.apple.quicktimeplayer.SharedPrefsVendor location "~/Desktop/video_recording"

to no avail.

Utilizing the UI. Upon every display recording I’ve to pick out the customized goal folder no matter having clicked on “Bear in mind Final Choice”. The 2nd time I attempt to file the display, it now not saves the recordings within the specified folder.

Steps to activate “Bear in mind Final Choice”

QuickTime Participant > File > New Display screen Recording > Choices > Bear in mind Final Choice
